Position Purpose:
The Simulator Maintenance Technician I is responsible for accomplishing the day-to-day maintenance of aircrew training devices.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on simulators, computers, and other associated Aircrew Training Device (ATD) equipment, to the component level if necessary.
Provides full-time customer support regarding operational procedures.
Completes maintenance data collection and inspection procedures for required ATS equipment.
Provides regular and timely feedback on training device status.
Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment.
Maintains maintenance activity logs.
Assists the lead technician with collateral duties such as supply, inventory control, and associated administrative functions.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of discrepancy reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Working knowledge of Maintenance and Supply procedures.
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory.
Working knowledge of operating principals of digital and analog computers.
Working knowledge of component level testing and repair of circuit boards, instruments, and other ATS field replaceable units.
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to interface with the customer and staff effectively.
Ability to use a variety of common and specialized test equipment and tools.
Possess an active SECRET security clearance.
Education and Formal Training:
High School diploma or equivalent; and completion of a civilian or military basic electronic course. An Associates Degree in an electronics field or completion of a VoTech Simulator Maintenance Program is highly desirable.
Experience:
One to three years of experience as a flight simulator technician or equivalent is desired.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
